The short version

This site is a directory. It does not carry out installations, it does not quote for work, and it does not administer grants. Every figure published here is general guidance to help you have a better conversation with an installer. Only a registered installer can quote for your home, and only SEAI can confirm what grant you will receive.

Grant amounts and eligibility

SEAI is the sole authority on grant amounts, eligibility rules and how to apply. The amounts quoted on this site were checked against SEAI on 28 July 2026 and are shown with that date beside them.

Grant amounts and rules change, sometimes substantially. The heat pump package moved from €6,500 to €12,500 in February 2026. A figure that was correct when we checked it may not be correct when you read it, so confirm the current amount with SEAI before you commit to anything.

Eligibility depends on your specific property and is decided by SEAI, not by us. A home built and occupied before 2021 usually qualifies, but that is a general rule rather than a promise, and other conditions apply — including a technical assessment, and the requirement that work must not begin before your grant is approved. Where we say a home "usually" qualifies, that is exactly what we mean.

Maximum amounts are maximums. Reaching the full €12,500 on a heat pump (as of July 2026) requires replacing a fossil-fuel heating system and carrying out qualifying heating-system work. Most homes receive less than the maximum.

Costs, savings and payback figures

Installed-cost ranges on this site are indicative and drawn from typical Irish installations. They are not quotes. Real prices vary with the size and condition of the property, the system specified, access, and what a particular installer's schedule looks like when you ask. Two installers quoting the same house can differ substantially, which is why we suggest getting two or three quotes.

Any payback period, running-cost saving or export-payment figure is an illustration based on general assumptions. It is not a forecast for your home and not financial advice. Actual outcomes depend on how much energy you use and when, electricity and fuel prices over time, the fabric of the building, how the system is commissioned and how you operate it. None of those are things we can see.

The grant calculator on this site applies the published grant to an indicative cost range. It produces an estimate for orientation, not a quotation, and it cannot account for anything specific to your property.

Installer listings

Listings are drawn from the official SEAI registered contractor list. That a business appears here means it was on that register when we last pulled it. It is not a recommendation, an endorsement, a rating, or a statement about the quality, price, availability, insurance or conduct of that business.

We carry out no vetting beyond the register itself. Contractors join and leave it, so confirm a contractor's current registration directly with them or with SEAI before committing to work — particularly if you are relying on it for a grant.

Any contract you enter into is between you and that contractor. We are not a party to it, take no commission on it, and have no responsibility for the work, the quotation, the timeline or any dispute arising from it.

Town and area lists describe the areas contractors on this site cover. They are not a claim that any particular installer is based in a given town, and coverage should be confirmed when you call.

Accuracy, and telling us when we get it wrong

We take reasonable care to keep this site accurate and to date the figures on it. We do not warrant that everything is complete, current or error-free, and to the extent permitted by law we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it. Nothing here is professional, financial, legal or engineering advice for your situation.

If you spot something wrong — an incorrect grant figure, a business listed that should not be, wrong contact details, a town in the wrong county — please tell us and we will correct it. Email hello@hvacinireland.ie or use the contact page. Corrections are welcome and we would rather hear it from you than leave it wrong.
