Installer listings
This site is a directory of SEAI-registered installers. For each listing we hold the business name, the county it covers, and the contact details already published for that business, which is typically a phone number and, where one is on file, an email address.
This information is sourced from the official SEAI registered contractor list, which is public. We publish it so a homeowner searching for a registered installer, one who can carry out grant-eligible work, can find and contact that business directly. We charge no fee for a listing and take no commission on any work that results from it.
Our lawful basis for publishing listings is legitimate interest: connecting homeowners with installers who are on the public register. If you are a listed installer and want your details corrected or your listing removed, see your rights below. Email us from the address we hold for your business where you can, as that lets us confirm the listing is yours, and we act on corrections and removals within five working days.
Enquiries from homeowners
When you send an enquiry through an installer's listing, we collect the details you enter on the form:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address (optional)
- The message you write about the work you need
Your enquiry goes straight to the installer whose listing you used, by email, so they can get back to you directly. We are copied on it so we can keep the directory working and honest. Where you provide an email address, it is set as the reply address so the installer can respond to you.
We do not sell your details, we do not pass them to any lead-broker or third-party distribution service, and we do not store them in a database on this site. Your enquiry exists as an email to the installer and to us. Email delivery is handled by Resend, our email provider.
Keeping the form free of spam
The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell genuine visitors apart from automated bots. It reads a limited set of technical signals from your browser to do this and is not used to identify you personally.
Website usage data
We collect pseudonymised usage data to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on page, approximate device and screen size, and the page that referred you. This is gathered through a first-party analytics beacon to daveacoleman.com, the operator's own analytics console, and through StatCounter. It is not used to identify individuals.
You can turn this off for your browser at any time by adding ?notrack to the end of any page address on this site. Your preference is then remembered.
Cookies
This site uses essential cookies required for the site to function, along with analytics cookies set by StatCounter. A small preference cookie remembers if you have turned tracking off. We do not use advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; this may affect some site functionality.
How we use your data
We use the data described above solely to:
- Publish SEAI-registered installer listings so homeowners can find and contact them
- Pass a homeowner's enquiry to the installer they chose, so that installer can reply
- Respond to any direct enquiries you send us by email or WhatsApp
- Understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for direct marketing without your explicit consent.
Legal basis for processing
We rely on legitimate interests to publish installer listings drawn from the public SEAI register and to run site analytics, and on your consent when you submit an enquiry form so that we can pass it to the installer you selected. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.
Data retention
Homeowner enquiries exist only as email, in our inbox and the installer's; there is no separate store, and email correspondence is kept for up to three years. Listings are kept while the business remains on the SEAI register or until removal is requested. Analytics data is retained for up to 24 months in pseudonymised, aggregate form.
Your rights under GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, both homeowners and listed installers have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Request restriction of processing
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, contact us on WhatsApp or at dave@daveacoleman.com. If you are a listed installer, emailing from the address we hold for your business helps us confirm the request is genuinely yours. We respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) at dataprotection.ie.
Third parties
This site works with the following third-party services:
- Resend: delivers homeowner enquiry emails to installers
- Cloudflare: provides hosting, CDN and DDoS protection, and the Turnstile bot-protection on the enquiry form; may log IP addresses in access logs
- StatCounter: website analytics
- daveacoleman.com: the operator's own analytics console, which receives pseudonymised page events
- Google Fonts: fonts are loaded from Google's CDN, which constitutes a connection to Google's servers
