M.P. Kenny Ltd, Common Questions
Is M.P. Kenny Ltd SEAI-registered?
M.P. Kenny Ltd is listed on the SEAI register for heat pump installation in Wicklow (checked July 2026). Registration can change, so confirm it on the SEAI registered contractor search (https://hes.seai.ie/GrantProcess/ContractorSearch.aspx) before you book.
How do I get a quote from M.P. Kenny Ltd?
Contact M.P. Kenny Ltd directly using the phone number on this page. Nothing goes through us, there is no booking fee, and your details are not passed to anyone else or sold on.
What areas does M.P. Kenny Ltd cover?
M.P. Kenny Ltd is based in Wicklow and takes work across the county, including Bray, Greystones, Wicklow town, Arklow, Rathnew, Baltinglass, Carnew and Tinahely. Most installers cover their whole county rather than one town, so it is worth confirming your own address when you call.
Do I need to use an installer based in Wicklow?
No. SEAI registration is national rather than county by county, so a contractor listed under a neighbouring county can quote for your home and handle the grant the same way. Getting two or three quotes is the only reliable way to see what the work should cost.
Does M.P. Kenny Ltd only do heat pump installation?
On the SEAI register they are listed for heat pump installation. They may well do other work, but heat pump installation is the measure their registration covers, so it is the one they can process a grant for.
Should anything be done before the installation?
Insulation comes first on any home energy upgrade. A well-sealed house needs a smaller system and runs at a lower cost, and attic and wall insulation carry SEAI grants of their own. Ask about the fabric of the house when you speak to M.P. Kenny Ltd.
The Other Trades a Wicklow Retrofit Needs
A renewable heating upgrade rarely happens on its own, and the order the work goes in decides what it costs. These are SEAI-registered trades covering Wicklow on our sister sites, each one worth lining up before the heating work starts rather than after.
- Alongside the installation Plumbers and gas installers in Wicklow Taking out an old oil or gas boiler, reworking the heating circuit and fitting the hot water cylinder is usually done by a registered plumber, and a heat pump is usually commissioned by a qualified, registered professional.
- Alongside the installation Electricians in Wicklow A heat pump needs its own supply and isolator, and solar panels need the inverter tied into the consumer unit and the ESB notification handled. Both are electrician work.
SEAI Heat Pump Grant for Work by M.P. Kenny Ltd
SEAI support for a heat pump is up to €12,500 (as of July 2026) for eligible homes. Ask M.P. Kenny Ltd how the grant application and payment would work for your job, and confirm the details with SEAI before any work starts.
It is worth knowing how the total breaks down before the survey. The heat pump itself carries €6,500, a Renewable Heat Bonus applies where you are replacing an oil, gas, solid fuel or electric storage system, and a further amount goes towards heating system upgrades such as new radiators. Asking for the quote to set those out separately makes the net figure clear rather than leaving it to be worked out later.
