PJ Firman & Co Ltd is listed on the SEAI register for solar thermal installation in Tipperary (checked July 2026). Registration can change, so confirm it on the SEAI registered contractor search (https://hes.seai.ie/GrantProcess/ContractorSearch.aspx) before you book.
How do I get a quote from PJ Firman & Co Ltd?
Contact PJ Firman & Co Ltd directly using the phone number on this page. Nothing goes through us, there is no booking fee, and your details are not passed to anyone else or sold on.
What areas does PJ Firman & Co Ltd cover?
PJ Firman & Co Ltd is based in Tipperary and takes work across the county, including Clonmel, Nenagh, Thurles, Tipperary town, Cahir, Roscrea, Carrick-on-Suir and Templemore. Most installers cover their whole county rather than one town, so it is worth confirming your own address when you call.
What can PJ Firman & Co Ltd install?
They are registered with SEAI for solar thermal and biomass boilers. A contractor registered for more than one measure can fit them together and claim both grants, which saves coordinating two jobs.
Should anything be done before the installation?
Insulation comes first on any home energy upgrade. A well-sealed house needs a smaller system and runs at a lower cost, and attic and wall insulation carry SEAI grants of their own. Ask about the fabric of the house when you speak to PJ Firman & Co Ltd.
What grant can I claim on work by PJ Firman & Co Ltd?
Grants may be available for eligible homes. SEAI lists support of up to €1,200 for solar water heating as of July 2026, and SEAI decides eligibility. Confirm how the application and payment work with PJ Firman & Co Ltd and with SEAI before any work starts.
The Other Trades a Tipperary Retrofit Needs
A renewable heating upgrade rarely happens on its own, and the order the work goes in decides what it costs. These are SEAI-registered trades covering Tipperary on our sister sites, each one worth lining up before the heating work starts rather than after.
- While the scaffolding is up Roofers in Tipperary If external wall insulation is going on, the scaffolding is already up and paid for. That is the cheapest time to deal with the roof, and solar panels want a sound roof under them.
- Alongside the installation Plumbers and gas installers in Tipperary Taking out an old oil or gas boiler, reworking the heating circuit and fitting the hot water cylinder is usually done by a registered plumber, and a heat pump is usually commissioned by a qualified, registered professional.
SEAI Heat Pump Grant for Work by PJ Firman & Co Ltd
SEAI support for a heat pump is up to €12,500 (as of July 2026) for eligible homes. Ask PJ Firman & Co Ltd how the grant application and payment would work for your job, and confirm the details with SEAI before any work starts.
It is worth knowing how the total breaks down before the survey. The heat pump itself carries €6,500, a Renewable Heat Bonus applies where you are replacing an oil, gas, solid fuel or electric storage system, and a further amount goes towards heating system upgrades such as new radiators. Asking for the quote to set those out separately makes the net figure clear rather than leaving it to be worked out later.
