SHS Renweables Ltd, Common Questions
Is SHS Renweables Ltd SEAI-registered?
SHS Renweables Ltd is listed on the SEAI register for biomass boiler installation in Kildare (checked July 2026). Registration can change, so confirm it on the SEAI registered contractor search (https://hes.seai.ie/GrantProcess/ContractorSearch.aspx) before you book.
How do I get a quote from SHS Renweables Ltd?
Contact SHS Renweables Ltd directly using the phone number on this page. Nothing goes through us, there is no booking fee, and your details are not passed to anyone else or sold on.
What areas does SHS Renweables Ltd cover?
SHS Renweables Ltd is based in Kildare and takes work across the county, including Naas, Newbridge, Maynooth, Celbridge, Leixlip, Athy, Clane, Kilcock, Kildare town and Monasterevin. Most installers cover their whole county rather than one town, so it is worth confirming your own address when you call.
Should anything be done before the installation?
Insulation comes first on any home energy upgrade. A well-sealed house needs a smaller system and runs at a lower cost, and attic and wall insulation carry SEAI grants of their own. Ask about the fabric of the house when you speak to SHS Renweables Ltd.
Is there an SEAI grant for biomass boilers?
No. SEAI's individual home energy grants do not cover a biomass boiler, so there is no grant to claim on that measure. SHS Renweables Ltd is on the SEAI register, and a heat pump is the grant-aided route if you are weighing the two.
Does my home in Kildare qualify for a grant?
A home built and occupied before 2021 usually qualifies. Housing across Kildare varies a lot, so the survey decides rather than the county. A registered installer confirms eligibility during a free survey before anything is committed.
The Other Trades a Kildare Retrofit Needs
A renewable heating upgrade rarely happens on its own, and the order the work goes in decides what it costs. These are SEAI-registered trades covering Kildare on our sister sites, each one worth lining up before the heating work starts rather than after.
- Alongside the installation Plumbers and gas installers in Kildare Taking out an old oil or gas boiler, reworking the heating circuit and fitting the hot water cylinder is usually done by a registered plumber, and a heat pump is usually commissioned by a qualified, registered professional.
- Alongside the installation Electricians in Kildare A heat pump needs its own supply and isolator, and solar panels need the inverter tied into the consumer unit and the ESB notification handled. Both are electrician work.
SEAI Heat Pump Grant for Work by SHS Renweables Ltd
SEAI support for a heat pump is up to €12,500 (as of July 2026) for eligible homes. Ask SHS Renweables Ltd how the grant application and payment would work for your job, and confirm the details with SEAI before any work starts.
It is worth knowing how the total breaks down before the survey. The heat pump itself carries €6,500, a Renewable Heat Bonus applies where you are replacing an oil, gas, solid fuel or electric storage system, and a further amount goes towards heating system upgrades such as new radiators. Asking for the quote to set those out separately makes the net figure clear rather than leaving it to be worked out later.
